Release notes for Agile Toolbox for Jira

Updated

September 2026

Retrospectives

  • Emoji reactions. React to any card with 🔥 🎉 💯 🤔 😢 ❤️. Reactions sit on their own row, never count as votes, and can be switched off per board.
  • Vote budgets. Set the number of votes per participant, allow or forbid several votes on one card, and see “2 of 3 votes left” in the board header. Reset votes clears the board in one go.
  • Voting phase. Optionally, votes can only be cast after the facilitator presses Start voting, and close again with Stop voting.
  • Card groups. Drop a card onto another to group them without losing either. Groups have their own title, votes and reactions, fold and unfold, and move as one block. This replaces the old merge, which combined two cards into one.
  • Action column. Mark one column as the action column and press Create issues to create a Jira issue for every card in it, one prefilled dialog after another.
  • Better issues from cards. The create dialog is prefilled with the card text as the summary and a description that names the retrospective and column and links back to the board. Cards can also link existing issues, carry several links, and unlink them.
  • Board timer with presets, a warning in the last minute and a “Time’s up” state.
  • Redesigned list with search, sorting, the template and status of each retrospective, its creation date and its linked issues.

Planning Poker

  • Estimation method per room: most voted card, average, median or highest. The result always snaps to a card in the deck.
  • Consensus label after reveal: Unanimous, Close or Split.
  • Round timer in the room, with the same presets as the retrospective timer.
  • Kanban boards are supported: build refinements from the board’s issues, with the first column acting as the backlog.
  • Search across refinements, sprints and the backlog reports how many issues matched and lets you load more and keep searching.

August 2026

  • Native Forge app. Agile Toolbox now runs as a native Atlassian Forge app inside Jira. The app appears as an Agile Toolbox page in the project sidebar with Refinements and Retrospectives tabs, and as two actions on every issue: Start poker and Add to refinement.
  • Dark mode. The app follows the Jira theme and switches live when you change it.
  • Board picker for projects with several boards.
  • Uninstalling the app no longer deletes your refinements and retrospectives; a reinstall brings them back.
  • The Asia-Pacific region was retired. The app runs in the EU and US regions.

  • Fixing issue with not fetching all issues from the backlog on the refinement section.
